Tuition & Policies/Terms of Agreement

No Long Term Contract

For your convenience, lessons are always month to month and there is no long-term contract. Tuition will be automatically billed monthly. Tuition includes student participation opportunities for optional fun and live performances. For our students performing, these recitals are FREE, unlike many schools in Missouri. We do not charge recital participation fees. We also have discounted tickets for parents.

Other schools may offer a trial lesson, but at Missouri Music Academy your first month is a trial month! If you've wondered am I or my child going to like online lessons, be assured if at any time during your first month, you decide this is not a good fit for you, you can simply let us know and we will refund you for the remaining lessons you have not yet taken during your four lessons (your trial month). We only want students who truly want to be here, so we have made it very easy to register and to withdraw.

Registration

At registration for beginning lessons there is a one time $70 Registration/sign up fee. Annually there is a $47 Membership fee ran on January 20th each year. At Missouri Music Academy there are NO hidden fees. Tuition does not include instruments to practice on at home, your device for online lessons, music lesson books or a lesson planner.

How long does it last?

Lessons are ongoing all year round, summer included. Lessons stop when the two-weeks written withdrawal notice or withdrawal form is emailed to the front desk to end lessons. Written withdrawal must be received by the 15th of the month you are on in order to be withdrawn as of the 1st day of the upcoming month. You may request a withdrawal form at any time.

Verbal notice from student, parent, or teacher is not adequate. Cancellations must be in writing.

What do I get and for how much?

Monthly tuition pays for your standing appointment. It does not include any rescheduling. If you are unable to attend your regularly scheduled weekly appointments you may request an audio or video lessons summary.

Half hour lessons are $196 monthly. (48 lessons throughout the year divided into 12 equal payments.)

Hour lessons are $392 monthly (48 lessons throughout the year divided into 12 equal payments.)

All accounts are on auto-pay via a debit or credit card with MMA. Payments will run on the 1st of each month for that month’s tuition.

Up front payment of one month’s tuition is required before lessons can begin. (If you start part way through a given month, we will prorate that month’s billing based on the lessons the student is attending that first month – a full month of enrollment in lessons is still required.)

Due to demand, if payments are more than 30 days late your spot may be made available for new enrollees.
MMA does not issue refunds after your first trial month.

What if I have to miss a lesson?

Your tuition covers a standing appointment on a preset day and time. We do not reserve slots for rescheduling lessons missed. You may request a lesson summary be sent to you in place of your absence. This is a wonderful way for students to progress during the week they had to miss. Please be considerate in not asking teachers for time beyond what your tuition covers.

What if a teacher misses a lesson?

If a teacher cannot attend a lesson, a qualified substitue will teach your regularly scheduled lesson. If a sub is not available, students have the option to reschedule the lesson (subject to availability.) No refunds or reschedules will be given if you choose not to attend a lesson with a sub.

Performance opportunities

There are 2 optional recitals per year. Students who wish to participate may sign up through the front desk. Additional performance opportunities pop up through the year through camps and by teacher invitation.

Schedule, Holidays and Closures

Lessons begin and end on the half hour. If you are late for your lesson, you will have a short lesson.

MMA is open 48 weeks per year. We are closed on our spring break, the full week of Thanksgiving and two full weeks for Christmas break.

Emergency Closures

In the event of inclement weather or other unexpected interruption, MMA may cancel classes. If there is not adaquate cell service for your teacher's signal during your regularly scheduled online lessons, we will provide an online lesson. No refunds or reschedules will be given if you cannot make the remote snow day lesson.

Child Safety

Please be assured that all of our teachers are background checked. To ensure your child’s safety, please pick them up promptly after the lesson for all in person camps, recitals or anything else on campus. MMA is not responsible for supervising children in the waiting area.
For online lessons the camera on your device is to be set up to show the student and their instrument for the teacher to correctly train for proper technique.
Photos/Videos of students may be used for promotional purposes. If you are opposed to this, please let us know at the time of sign up.
